ALL NEW ARRIVALS await you in Catalog 65. We acquired a few scarce Ludwig Bemelmans titles: Rosebud, Marina and Noodle (written by Munro Leaf!). We were thrilled to find a few uncommon first edition picture books: Jeff Brown's Flat Stanley, Louise Fatio & Roger Duvoisin's Three Happy Lions; Hardie Gramatky's 2nd book, Hercules; Marjorie Flack illustrated Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes (in the first issue dust jacket with the incorrect title); Dahlov Ipcar's gorgeous Calico Jungle, etc... A nice group of Edward J. Detmold illustrated books made their way onto our shelves, as well as a lovely Kay Nielsen, an obscure Arthur Rackham title. As always, we tracked down some Caldecott Medal and Honor books including the ever elusive Mice Twice by Joseph Low and an inscribed copy of The Emperor and the Kite by Jane Yolen, illustrated by Ed Young. We were pleased to come across a first printing of a Newbery Medal winner we've never offered before: Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. We hope you find something that fills a void on your shelves.

166 NEW ARRIVALS await you in Catalog 64 (We know it is numbered through 167, but we somehow missed #141). We recently took in a large quantity of Christmas themed books, most of which appear in this catalog, including a rare Elisabeth Ivanovsky illustrated tale of St. Nicholas of Myra by Henri Gheon. Be sure not to miss the American issue of Lewis Carroll's Nursery Alice. We're excited about a first edition of Alexander and the Magic Mouse illustrated by Philippe Fix, which we'd only ever seen as a book club or ex-library copy. We acquired a French language edition of Grimm's fairy tales that we'd never seen or heard of before, illustrated by Gwendolen Mawe, see item #74. On our recent travels to Maine we stumbled on a stunning copy of the John R. Neill illustrated edition of Hiawatha by Longfellow. A nice copy of Jessie Willcox Smith's Everyday Fairy Book fell into our laps, and that doesn't happen everyday! There is much more to see including many signed books, Caldecott Honor books, Newbery Medal and Honor books and lastly we should mention a funny book of cats that you can read about at #28, Die Katzen in Der Schule with artwork attributed to Eugen Hartung. Catalog 63 is filled with ALL NEW ARRIVALS! We present 200 items that we've acquired over the past few months including a first edition of Dr. Seuss' landmark book The Cat in the Hat as well as The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. We also found an early Sendak title we've never seen before, Circus Girl; it is a first edition and it's in beautiful condition. There are so many illustrated editions of Robert Louis Stevenson's Child's Garden of Verses and we had a nice group of them come in, see items 178-184. An uncommon Charles Robinson illustrated title came through our doors, Doris and David All Alone by Elizabeth Marc aka Princess Nusrat, and it retains its original dust jacket! We haven't seen a copy of Tomie De Paola's Strega Nona in years, but now we have a first edition, see item 42. A first edition of our favorite Louis Slobodkin title made its way onto our shelves, The Little Mermaid Who Could Not Sing; it's amusing, fun and teaches a valuable lesson and the illustrations are just perfect. Lastly, we stumbled on a nice copy of the Edith Wharton & Maxfield Parrish masterpiece, Italian Gardens and Their Villas, a first edition from 1904. Frankly, we're tickled. Catalog 61 delights with its selection of beautiful and obscure children's and illustrated books. We are pleased to offer a rare piracy of Beatrix Potter's first book, A Happy Pair, it is an advertising vehicle for Fischer's Mustard. If fanciful verse is your thing, The Ballad of the Be-Ba-Boes by D K Stevens will not disappoint; the artwork is jolly fun, too. We are gushing over the Gustaf Tenggren illustrated DIckey Byrd, an early and uncommon work of his. Edmund Dulac has always been one of our favorite illustrators, so we are thrilled to have two jacketed titles, Love of the Foolish Angel and The Green Lacquer Pavilion, plus "the lavender" edition of My Days with the Fairies. Other highlights include a beautifully printed German alphabet Book Tierbilder ABC mit Reimen; Rudolf Mates illustrated The Magic Flutes; Children's Corner in the original dust jacket, illustrated by H. Willebeek Le Mair; and Child's Book of Myths in dust jacket, illustrated by Margaret Evans Price. Catalog 60 is packed with Newbery Medal and Newbery Honor books, many are signed including an early printing of Elizabeth George Speare's The Witch of Blackbird Pond; Newbery Winners which are scarce in the first edition such as Ann Nolan Clark's Secret of the Andes and Virginia Sorenson's Miracles on Maple Hill. This catalog also features nice, first editions and early printings of Ruth Plumly Thompson Oz books. A few highlights of illustrated books from this catalog are a signed limited edition of N. C. Wyeth's Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come and Jessie Willcox Smith's Seven Ages of Childhood in dust jacket!

Catalog 59 includes signed Caldecott Medal winners, such as an early printing of Gail E. Haley's A Story, A Story; an early American title, The Wise Boys, published by McLoughlin Bros.; a nice selection of ABC books including a Mother Goose Alphabet, Little Darlings ABC and a nice Railroad ABC. We recently purchased a large collection of paper books which include many advertising pieces such as uncommon Mother Goose booklets illustrated by Lois Lenski and Eulalie, there are also quite a few fairy tale titles like Puss in Boots, Cinderella and Little Snow-Drop. Not to be overlooked is the fabulous and rare Noah's Ark panorama by Oskar Laske, L'Arche Noah.
